Purpose

This practice project is based on personal experience as a new hire and a hiring manager.  Excel Engineering Solutions (EES), an engineering and consulting company is experiencing an increase in turnover during the 120 days probation period. There is no systematic onboarding. Exit surveys from those who quit indicated the lack of organization, a feeling of not being welcome and integrated to the teams, no clear expectation of responsibilities.

Proposal

Create a toolkit for Managers to address this problem. The Manager Toolkit will be comprised of 5 modules to guide managers during the 120 days probation. This first module concentrates on the pre-onboarding phase and welcoming a new team member their first day.
