DESIGN DOCUMENTATION

An essential step in the instructional design process involves creating a Design Document (DD) after analyzing course requirements and aligning with business goals. A DD outlines objectives, target audience, content structure, and technical specifications. Following this, storyboards (SB) provide a detailed structure of the course, including navigation, interactions, content, visuals, and audio elements. Both DD and SB undergo several iterations and incorporate feedback from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure accuracy and effectiveness. Once approved, they move into the development phase.

Additionally, scripts provide the necessary details to create the audio components of the course to voice-over artists and developers.

This comprehensive documentation process, typically used when not in rapid development, ensures thorough planning and effective execution of engaging eLearning solutions.
